WELLSBURG, NY — A New York woman is facing felony charges after authorities say she sent explicit images to a 14-year-old boy over the course of several months.

Anamaria E. Milazzo, 22, has been charged with Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors in the Second Degree, a Class E felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor, according to a press release from the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began on June 9, when a School Resource Officer stationed at the Greater Southern Tier (GST) BOCES received a complaint about inappropriate communications involving a minor. The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division joined the case and, through their inquiry, determined that Milazzo had allegedly sent nude photographs of herself to the underage male over a three-month span.

The teen’s identity has not been released, and it remains unclear whether he attended the same BOCES school where Milazzo had been employed.

According to reporting by WETM-TV, GST BOCES confirmed Milazzo had worked at a facility in Chemung County. She was terminated following the allegations, though BOCES officials declined to disclose her position or when she had been employed.

Milazzo has been issued an appearance ticket and is expected to appear in Wellsburg Village Court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details have been released.

Presumption of Innocence: A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is presumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
