Police say the mother, who is pregnant, was also being abused.

The assault caused a noticeable injury to the victim’s eye, which Lugo attempted to conceal using multiple techniques including ice, makeup, and—oddly enough—salt and butter

Police say the suspect was caught on home security cameras chasing her wife with a knife moments before the murder.

The wife also had some suspicious posts on social media.

According to police, the mother was struck by one of the teens with a brick.

The suspect’s defense attorney said the father intended to leave his baby with a babysitter before taking his other child to daycare.

Investigators believe the suspects’ identities were “known to the victim,” and they fled the scene in the victim’s rental car.

The girl was unharmed, and two suspects were taken into custody.

A large kitchen knife was found inside the motel room which was purchased the day before.

Police say the suspect attacked a man in a transient camp and dug a grave for him in the woods.

Family told local news that the teen and the suspect’s wife had been in a sexual relationship for at least a year and a half, and says it began when he was 15.

Since the attack, the victim remained hospitalized. On March 16, 2025, she was pronounced dead.

Authorities are still trying to determine the time of the shooting as it reportedly appeared the family could have been killed days before they were found.

During the assault, the man told the child, “if you are going to act like an animal, I’ll treat you like one.”

He has been booked on a single count of Second Degree Murder.

The suspect left a series of threatening and gruesome handwritten notes, and even texted police officers.

Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances of the deaths.
