WASHINGTON, UT — Police say a woman on vacation in Utah was stabbed to death and two suspects are on the run.

According to the Washington City Police Department, the homicide is believed to have occurred on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at a residence on N Bello Alley, in Washington, Utah.

Police say the victim was found in a vacation rental home with multiple stab wounds to her upper body.

The victim, whose name was not released, traveled to Washington from California and had been staying in the rental home for three days prior to her death, police said.

Authorities identified two persons of interest in connection to the case, but did not release their names citing the ongoing investigation and “potential leads.”

Investigators believe the suspects’ identities were “known to the victim,” and they fled the scene in the victim’s rental car.

The car has since been located and is “undergoing processing by law enforcement in a neighboring state,” police said.

On the other hand, the suspects remain at large as of Wednesday.

An autopsy of the victim is currently underway.

In the initial press release, Washington City PD said another update would be shared on Wednesday morning. A press release was published to the department’s Facebook around noon, and stated, “there are no new developments to report.”

Presumption of Innocence: A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is presumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The defendant in this case is only accused of the charges set forth in the criminal complaint. They are innocent until proven guilty.
