Affidavit of Probable Cause
On 17 March 2023 at approximately 0248 hours, Ofc. Ledonne, and I, Ofc. N. Probola responded to the area of 30th St. and Beale St. for a report of a female screaming in the street that her son had assaulted her.

Upon arrival Ofc. Ledonne and I located a female later identified as ███████ who had a bloody mouth and lip as well as an abrasion about her chin and swelling about her forehead. ███ was holding a roll of wallpaper and was visibly shaking and scared, constantly surveying the area and asking numerous times if she was safe.

I was able to ascertain from ███ that her son, Andrew, was intoxicated, mentally disabled, and highly aggressive. ███ stated that Andrew assaulted her causing her injuries.

Additional units ware requested due to my knowledge of Andrew being violent towards Officers in the past.

Upon arrival of said units ███ became even more alarmed to the extent that she requested to find refuge in the rear of my patrol vehicle, to which I obliged.

Lt. Angert, Sgt. Gault, Ofc. Summers, Ofc. Ledonne, Ofc. Cerasuolo arrived on scene at which point contact was made with Andrew within the residence. Andrew was immediately confrontational and upon being taken into custody he asked “is ███ dead?”

With Andrew in custody ███ was finally able to calm herself enough to begin to explain to me what occurred. ███ stated that she and Andrew were having an agreed upon (2) beers and that everything was fine until Andrew began to drink an unknown purple alcoholic beverage. ███ stated that following the consumption of said purple beverage Andrew became enraged and walked to her as she was watching television and struck her at least (1) time with a closed fist.

███ then retreated to an upstairs bedroom and attempted to close and lock the door but Andrew forced his way in and locked the (2) family dogs out, knowing that the dogs would protect ███. ███ stated that once she and Andrew were then alone in the room he began to strike her countless times with closed fists as well as throw items at her.███ then fled out the front door of the residence and hid in the rear of a neighbor’s residence.

███ then ran into the middle of 30th St. which is a very busy street, and attempted to flag down passing vehicles, all the while petrified that Andrew would come after her and continue his assault.

Andrew was found to have a possible ankle injury therefore was transported to UPMC McKeesport Hospital by Ofc. Ledonne where he was found to be fit for incarceration. Upon being transported to the station for holding and processing Andrew became non-compliant with Ofc. Foster who was assigned to the warden’s desk. Ofc. Foster, Ofc. Ledonne, and Ofc. Cerasuolo had to physically restrain Andrew within the cell to remove his handcuffs.

Andrew will be charged with the following:

  • 18: 2701 A1 Simple Assault
  • 18: 2701 A3 Simple Assault
  • 18: 2709 A1 Harassment

N.P. #305
