NEW YORK — A federal judge ruled that Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander must face most of the charges in a federal indictment accusing them of conspiring to drug and sexually assault dozens of women over more than a decade.
ABC News reports that the U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni denied the brothers’ motion to dismiss, ruling the allegations were sufficient to proceed to trial. She dismissed one attempted sex trafficking charge as time‑barred but upheld the remaining counts, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
Caproni also rejected defense arguments that the case involved only local crimes, noting the allegations spanned state and international borders. Court filings describe victims being moved from Martha’s Vineyard to New York, Florida and Israel
The investigation began in late 2024. It centered on the Alexander brothers, prominent New York and Miami real estate figures known for luxury property deals through their firm, the Alexander Group.
Prosecutors allege the men conspired from 2010 to 2021 to “repeatedly and violently drug, sexually assault and rape dozens of women,” according to an indictment unsealed in December 2024. They are accused of using their wealth and industry status to lure women to parties and events where the assaults took place.
More than 60 women have accused at least one of the Alexander brothers of sexual assault, prosecutors say. Eleven new victims have filed civil lawsuits, according to the New York Post.
The brothers face 10 felony counts, including conspiracy and sex trafficking. They have pleaded not guilty and remain in custody since their December arrest.
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said the brothers used their positions in real estate to entice women through dating apps, social events, and party promoters. Prosecutors allege they offered flights, luxury accommodations and promises of romantic relationships.
The brothers also supplied drugs like cocaine, psychedelic mushrooms and GHB. In some cases, women’s drinks were allegedly spiked. The indictment contends the drugs left victims unable to resist assaults.
Prosecutors say the brothers, sometimes acting alone and sometimes together, raped and assaulted women before sending them away with concert tickets or other valuable items.
Defense attorneys have called the charges unfounded. Oren Alexander’s lawyer, Richard Klugh, said earlier this year the case lacked merit. Tal Alexander’s attorney, Deanna Paul, described the allegations as “speculative.”
Caproni’s ruling ensures the core sex trafficking and conspiracy charges will be heard at trial. She wrote that the men allegedly “conspired to entice women and girls to travel in interstate and foreign commerce” and used “force and drugs” to engage in sexual contact.
The Alexander brothers remain in custody and also face separate state felony charges connected to their cousin, Ohad Fisherman.
Presumption of Innocence: A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is presumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The defendant in this case is only accused of the charges set forth in the criminal complaint. They are innocent until proven guilty.
