ORANGE COUNTY, FL — Angelo Portelli, 41, is being held without bond in the Orange County Jail after prosecutors accused him of four counts of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery by strangulation, shooting into an occupied dwelling and criminal mischief in a December 2025 confrontation outside an Orlando-area home.
According to WFTV, Portelli and his wife, Natalie, went to the home on Dec. 6, 2025. Investigators said Portelli was wearing a hoodie and face mask and his wife was wearing a wig when they arrived. Authorities allege Portelli confronted his former girlfriend at the residence and then attacked her current boyfriend, who is an Orlando Police Department Community Service Officer.
Deputies said the confrontation escalated into a shootout. Investigators said bullets struck the home, a vehicle parked outside and a nearby fence, and that two children were inside the house when the gunfire broke out. No injuries were reported.
WFTV reported that the house has since been repainted from yellow to blue, but discoloration remains where investigators say the bullets hit. Neighbors told the station the damage is still a reminder of how close the violence came to turning deadly on a residential street.
Portelli made a court appearance in Florida after his recent arrest. WFTV reported that U.S. Customs and Border Protection had been asked for comment on the case.
Presumption of Innocence: A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is presumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The defendant in this case is only accused of the charges set forth in the criminal complaint. They are innocent until proven guilty.
