SENOIA, GA — A Flock camera alert on a blue Ford F-250 led police in Coweta County to a traffic stop that recovered a child reported missing from Pasco County, Florida, and uncovered another child crammed into the front passenger floorboard of the truck.

Authorities said the July 31 stop on Highway 16 ended with two Florida adults in jail, four juveniles placed in state custody, and a five-seat pickup found carrying six people and three pets, according to WSB-TV.

Police said Sgt. Alexis Callaway of the Senoia Police Department spotted the truck after the camera system flagged it and followed it until Coweta County sheriff’s deputies arrived. Officers then stopped the pickup east of Wrightsburg Trail and arrested driver Kayton Elmer and passenger Aja-Linn Eddy.

When officers searched the truck, they found four juveniles inside. Investigators said Eddy’s son, a child with Down syndrome, was squeezed onto the front passenger floorboard at the feet of another juvenile and a large speaker because there was not enough seating for all six occupants. Police also found two dogs, including one described as aggressive, and a cat in the vehicle.

Authorities said one of the children in the back seat was the missing juvenile who had been reported missing by his mother, Kelsie Bell, in Pasco County. Police said neither Elmer nor Eddy had parental rights over that child, who told officers he was not hurt.

Officers placed the children in air-conditioned patrol vehicles before taking them to the Senoia Police Department. The juveniles were later turned over to Coweta County DFACS after police determined their closest relatives were in Utah, Florida, and Minnesota.

Elmer and Eddy were booked into the Coweta County Jail, where authorities said both were being held for extradition to Florida on felony warrants alleging interference with custody of a minor. Animal control took custody of the pets, and the truck was impounded.
