, PA (PPP)— Andre Lamont Johnson, a 34-year-old man, has been charged with several criminal offenses, including criminal trespass, terroristic threats, and resisting arrest, according to a report filed by the West Mifflin Borough Police Department.

On February 24th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Maryland Ave for a possible burglary in progress. Upon arriving, the officer was met by a resident who explained that Johnson had gained entry through her bedroom window and made threats to harm everyone inside.

The officer proceeded to inspect the residence with the resident and discovered that several windows appeared to have been tampered with and the rear door had been heavily damaged. While speaking with the resident outside, the officer noticed Johnson walking towards them. Johnson was given several commands to stop, but he refused and continued to walk towards the residence and the resident’s position. After a tussle, Johnson attempted to pull away from the officer, leading to the deployment of a TASER, which effectively immobilized Johnson.

Johnson was taken into custody, transported to the West Mifflin Police station, and held until he was transferred to the Allegheny County Jail. He was charged with criminal trespass, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, evading arrest or detention on foot, harassment, criminal mischief, loitering and prowling at nighttime, and several other charges.

This incident occurred as Johnson had reportedly violated an agreement made with the resident, who he had been living with. The report states that Johnson was known to carry firearms and had a history of domestic violence with the resident.

Affidavit of Probable Cause
On February 24th, 2023 at approximately 19:54 hrs, I (Sgt Christopher Mordaunt #4910), was dispatched to ███ Maryland Ave for a report of a possible burglary in progress. The caller, ███████, advised dispatch that her ██████████████ had broken into their residence by crawling through her bedroom window. ███████ feared for her safety and fled the residence when he continued further into the residence.

Upon arrival, I activated my BWC and was met down the street by ███████, who was visibly upset. ███████ explained that her ██████████████, Andre Johnson (JOHNSON), was not permitted at the residence but gained access into the house through her bedroom window. ███████ heard loud banging and then heard her window open violently. ███████ recognized the voice of the actor as JOHNSON and advised me that he was yelling “this bitch can’t get rid of me, I’ll do anything to get in this house, nobody can stop me, everyone can die!” ███████ advised me that she had a cousin down the block and she was instructed to wait there until the residence could be cleared.

While awaiting backup, ███████’ mother ███████, arrived on. scene. ███████ advised me that she received a frantic call from her daughter telling her that JOHNSON had just crawled through her bedroom window. ███████ reported that she and JOHNSON had a history of domestic violence and that he is known to carry firearms. ███████ stated that JOHNSON had voluntarily vacated the residence to live with another female three weeks prior and that she and JOHNSON had made arrangements this date to meet at a neutral location (Speedway on Kennywood Blvd) so that he could retrieve his personal property.

While inspecting the residence with ███████, we discovered that several windows appeared to have been tampered with and the rear door had been heavily damaged, consistent with it having been kicked in. The door was split in the middle and the jamb was damaged. I inspected the window that JOHNSON climbed through and it was not a usual point of entry for someone with permission to enter the property.

While speaking with ███████ outside, my attention was turned to a male dressed in dark clothing, walking in the dark towards our position. ███████ advised me that the male was JOHNSON. JOHNSON was given several commands to stop and place his hands on my patrol vehicle. JOHNSON refused and continued towards the residence and ███████ position. ███████ and witnesses, ███████ and ███████, retreated as they observed JOHNSON refusing to comply with my lawful orders. JOHNSON was told to show me his hands after he continued to walk towards me with his right hand in his pocket. When he didn’t comply, reached for my firearm but observed his empty hand just before drawing. JOHNSON still refused to stop and I attempted to physically restrain him but he pulled away.

Not knowing JOHNSON’s intentions after refusing to stop, pulling away from me, and continuing towards ███████ last location I drew my TASER and warned him to stop. When JOHNSON turned to run towards ███████ I deployed my TASER which was effective after a single cycle. JOHNSON was handcuffed and taken into custody. He was rolled over into a recovery position and searched for weapons with negative results.

JOHNSON was transported to the West Mifflin Police station by assisting Officer Fedor and was held until transport to the Allegheny County Jail. JOHNSON was evaluated by Baldwin Medics who cleared him for incarceration.
