FAYETTE COUNTY, AL — Everyone is asking—where is Kahleb Collins? What happened to the innocent toddler?

Investigators are still trying to figure that out while searching through ashes on a property in Fayette County, Alabama, on Wednesday, January 22, according to ABC affiliate WBMA.

The property was once rented to Steven Collins and Wendy Bailey, who were involved in a fatal crash in Fayette County on Sunday morning, December 8. Collins was killed in the crash, Bailey suffered serious injuries, and the couple’s two year old daughter, Ryleigh, was pronounced dead on scene and was found to not have been restrained during the crash, WBMA reported.

The crash later prompted an investigation into the couple’s other child, Kahleb, who was reportedly last seen in September.

An AMBER Alert was issued and, subsequently, Kahleb’s grandfather—50-year-old John Bailey—was jailed on charges of failing to report a missing child.

Kahleb is still missing and authorities believe he is deceased.

According to WVTM, investigators revealed Kahleb suffered severe abuse and believe he was killed by Steven Collins.

Investigators have offered limited information due to the ongoing investigation.

Wendy Bailey and John Bailey will appear in court on February 11.
