JACKSONVILLE, FL — A Florida man is behind bars after police say he ran over and killed a baby during an argument with a female.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said detectives made a “quick arrest” in the death of an eight-month-old baby on Saturday morning, January 25.

According to police, the suspect, 20-year-old Justin Golden, was driving with a female passenger and the eight-month-old baby in the car when he and the passenger got into an argument. Golden took the baby out of the car before leaving the scene, hitting the baby with the car.

The baby was taken to a nearby hospital, where he/she died. The baby’s gender and identity have not been released.

Golden was “quickly” taken into custody, police noted.

He’s charged with aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide.

The investigation continues.

“We, with our partners at the State Attorney’s Office, will stop at nothing to get justice for the baby,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
