MOBILE, AL — Jaymon Deaaron Johnson was found guilty on all counts following a jury trial, according to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office. Johnson was convicted of murder, attempted murder, first-degree assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and two counts of reckless endangerment in connection with a March 2023 shooting on Partridge Street.
According to WKRG, the shooting claimed the life of 34-year-old Dajarra Jackson. A 15-year-old was grazed by a bullet during the attack, and three other juveniles were also targeted. Johnson’s sentencing is scheduled for June 17, 2026.
District Attorney Keith Blackwood praised the outcome in a statement. “This verdict is the result of hard work by law enforcement, prosecutors, and a jury that carefully considered the evidence and delivered justice,” Blackwood said. “Violence of this kind has no place in our community. Drive-by shootings don’t just target individuals — they put entire neighborhoods at risk, and the consequences must be clear.”
Presumption of Innocence: A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is presumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The defendant in this case is only accused of the charges set forth in the criminal complaint. They are innocent until proven guilty.
