SAN ANTONIO, TX — A 28-year-old woman was killed and a 23-year-old man was wounded after gunfire erupted inside a Northwest Side home early Sunday.

According to KSAT’s report citing a preliminary San Antonio Police Department account, officers were called to the 11200 block of Sutton Place around 2 a.m. after a shooting was reported inside the residence.

Police said the man and woman were in a room during a verbal altercation before gunshots rang out. Investigators said it was not immediately clear what the argument was about.

Officers found the woman suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds across her body, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso and was taken to a local hospital, where his condition was not immediately released.

Police also said multiple people were inside the home at the time of the shooting and were detained for further investigation. The case remains under investigation.

The defendant in this case is only accused of the charges set forth in the criminal complaint. They are innocent until proven guilty.
