PLYMOUTH, MA — Patrick Clancy returned to the witness stand Wednesday as jurors in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial watched store video from the day their three children died and heard the 911 call he made after coming home.

WHDH reported that prosecutors continued questioning Patrick about the timeline on the day of the 2023 killings at the family’s Duxbury home, where Lindsay Clancy is charged in the deaths of the couple’s three young children.

Patrick testified that Lindsay asked him to make a second stop at CVS Pharmacy while he was out of the house that day. Prosecutors also showed jurors video of him walking around the store, and Patrick said he called Lindsay while he was inside to ask what she needed and that the conversation was brief but she sounded busy.

The courtroom then heard the 911 call Patrick made on the night investigators said Lindsay killed the children. As the call played, Lindsay was seen crying with her head in her hands, her parents were emotional, and others in the courtroom were visibly upset before the judge called a recess.

Patrick had already testified Monday about the last time he saw the children before leaving to pick up dinner, describing holding Callan, kissing Cora on the head, and seeing Dawson eating chicken nuggets on the couch. Prosecutors say Lindsay strangled the children while he was gone and then tried to take her own life.

The central issue for jurors isn’t whether the children were killed, but whether Lindsay Clancy was criminally responsible. Her defense attorney has said the 35-year-old was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was overmedicated.

Presumption of Innocence: A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is presumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The defendant in this case is only accused of the charges set forth in the criminal complaint. They are innocent until proven guilty.
