PORTLAND, OR — One adult man died and five other people were wounded, including a teenager, after gunfire erupted at a home in Portland’s Cully neighborhood early Sunday morning.
According to a Portland Police Bureau update and local reporting from KPTV and KATU, officers were called to the 5800 block of Northeast Alberta Street at about 3:33 a.m. Sunday and found two victims with apparent gunshot wounds at the scene. Police later learned that four more victims reached local hospitals in private vehicles after the same shooting.
Investigators said the victim who died was an adult man. The other five wounded victims were treated, and their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Police said one of the injured victims was a teenage juvenile and the rest were adults.
Authorities said the suspect or suspects left before officers arrived, and no arrests had been announced by late Sunday morning. Detectives said they believe numerous people were at the home before and during the shooting and asked anyone with information about case No. 26-224255 to submit a tip as the homicide investigation continues.
Presumption of Innocence: A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is presumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
