SAN ANTONIO, TX — Authorities say 19-year-old Aiden Samuel Rodriguez was charged after an April 6 pursuit ended in a crash near South Walters Street and East Commerce Street that seriously injured a woman in another vehicle.

According to KENS 5, Rodriguez is charged with collision involving serious bodily injury in connection with the wreck near the University of the Incarnate Word area.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers said they first spotted a gray Infiniti with an improperly displayed license plate near East Drexel Avenue and South New Braunfels Avenue.

When a trooper tried to stop the car, investigators said the Infiniti sped away, ran stop signs, and continued northbound at a high rate of speed before crashing into two other vehicles at the intersection of South Walters and East Commerce.

Authorities said both the driver and passenger ran from the wrecked Infiniti. The passenger was later caught, and Rodriguez was identified as the alleged driver after officers found his driver’s license inside the vehicle, according to the arrest affidavit.

Court documents identified one victim as the driver of a Kia sedan. She was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center with reported neck injuries, broken hands, lower back injuries, and a traumatic brain injury.

Investigators also noted Rodriguez had previously been linked to another evading case in 2025. The case remains pending in Bexar County.

Presumption of Innocence: A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is presumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The defendant in this case is only accused of the charges set forth in the criminal complaint. They are innocent until proven guilty.
