FORT WALTON BEACH, FL — A routine health inspection at a Florida massage parlor escalated into an unusual arrest this week after police said an employee tried to physically remove an inspector and later defecated toward officers to avoid being taken into custody.

According to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department, officers were called around midday Tuesday to the Palms of Emerald Coast Massage Parlor on Beal Parkway after a Department of Health employee reported being battered during an inspection. Police said the inspector was conducting a routine check when a massage parlor employee, later identified as 55-year-old Fang Wang, became upset and began yelling, according to statements cited by WKRG.

Investigators said Wang then attempted to force the health department employee out of the business. When officers arrived and tried to detain her, Wang allegedly began “defecating towards officers to evade arrest,” according to a police news release referenced by WJHG/WECP.

Police said Wang was taken into custody and booked into the Okaloosa County Jail. Online jail records reviewed by WJHG/WECP show she is charged with battery on a health department employee, resisting an officer and permitting an unlicensed person to practice massage.

In a statement, police said the incident was connected to a broader investigation involving the business. According to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department, the case was a follow-up to a previously served search warrant at the same location when it operated under other names, including Blue Bay Massage & Spa, New Magnolia Spa and Classy Spa, with Wang present during each investigation.

Wang was being held without bond as of the latest available jail records, according to WEAR-TV.
